Banking Real Estate Paralegal (Part Time)- Law

NG REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL COMPENSATION: To $33 per hour plus benefits and paid overtime Benefits: Paid Time Off, 401K, Medical and Dental Coverage, Life and AD&D Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts DAYS: Part-time 3 days per week (you pick!) HOURS: 12:00PM - 8:00PM LOCATION: Midtown NYC THE ORGANIZATION: International Law Firm SUMMARY: The Banking Paralegal will work independently and collaboratively with the Banking Partners, attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals, as well as Business Development, to assist with real estate matters on syndicated loan transactions and the maintenance of Banking databases. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining the Banking group's closed deal transaction database on a daily basis; Researching and contacting the appropriate attorneys and/or Partners to obtain the most up to date closed deal information Drafting the Banking group's transactional summaries for Business Development and assisting with league table submissions Training, mentoring and guiding incoming Corporate Legal Assistants and Banking Paralegals on the job responsibilities and tasks of the Banking group Working cohesively with all attorneys and providing explanatory assistance, information and documents in regards to real estate matters Working regularly with the Real Estate group to order, review, draft and/or file surveys, title commitments, pro-formas, flood hazard forms, mortgages, deeds of trust, amendments and releases Taking a lead role at closings by checking, drafting and revising documents; corresponding and conferring as well as following up with outside parties, service companies, title companies and surveyors to ensure quality service Coordinating all post closing correspondence and deliverables in regards to mortgage documents Reviewing any potential problems existing within a transaction and bringing those problems to an attorney's attention with suggestions as to possible solutions Assisting in maintaining and regularly updating a real estate procedural binder to ensure that the latest requirements, procedures, contacts and "best practices" are being documented REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree Minimum of two years' experience as a legal assistant in a corporate Real Estate or Banking practice Advanced knowledge of word processing and database applications Strong oral and written communication skills Extremely detail-oriented work manner; the ability to multitask; the ability to effectively delegate tasks to others Initiative to work independently and make judgments and decisions as appropriate Ability to work well under pressure and follow instructions Availability to work overtime CONTACT: Shannon Kay - http://www.filcro.com/page14.html#Real_Estate_Paralegal_Jobs
