br/> Job ID: 9716 Client: Major Broadcast Network (Sports Division) Location: New York, NY Start Date: ASAP Hours: 50+hours weekly including weekend, night, and holiday availability Compensation: Competitive Salary and Overtime Rates (DOE) Description Our client, a Major Broadcast Network (Sports Division), located in New York City is seeking a highly qualified Broadcast Engineer “Engineer in Charge” ASAP. Scope of Work Engineering Support and execute live and prerecorded programming Ensuring all transmission equipment is calibrated and operating correctly for live event telecasts Conducting quality control of all incoming and outgoing feeds Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance as needed Documenting and correcting of all technical problems. Working with users and technical services team for the implementation, installing, and debugging of systems Providing routine preventive maintenance and repair Project Management Researching and recommendation of solutions to management Project design and coordination with outside contractors Developing Audio, Video and RF solutions and conceptual engineering design specifications Generating equipment lists, floor plans, and rack and console elevations, test plans and test systems General Management Daily interaction and communication with engineering, technical, and production staff Ensuring compliance with company and FCC standards and guidelines. Participation in ad hoc projects. Qualifications Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or other advanced technical or science degree. Flexible hours/schedule and weekend and holiday shifts will be required Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all studio production equipment. Experience working in live broadcast engineering and studio operations environment. Experience with Broadcast Audio, Video and Control Systems, Video Servers, Storage Area Networks, & RF Systems Experience in HD and SD broadcast operations that includes a solid working knowledge of troubleshooting RF, fiber networks and signal flows. Ability to function well under pressure, i.e. during live broadcasts. Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills Must have strong communication skills and be a team player. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project. Knowledge of IT Networking and Systems, Firewalls, Fiber-Optics, MPEG, AutoCAD a big plus
