Facade Engineer – Senior Project Manager

iew: As a Facade Engineer – Senior Project Manager at IVI, you will apply your engineering and/or architectural experience and curtain wall/ façade expertise to consult on review of building facades as part of Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) of high-rise residential, office, retail, hospitality, and warehouse/distribution centers throughout the US and abroad for private and institutional equity investors. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, familiarity with curtain wall systems, inspection and specification. Candidate will consult on building envelope review and work with our team on the preparation of Property Condition Reports (PCR) complete with estimated costs to remedy the physical deficiencies observed. Responsibilities: Evaluation of existing building façade systems; Provide technical direction and guidance to architects and engineers on curtain wall and façade issues; For complete property condition reports, conduct walk-through surveys of buildings to assess condition of a building’s major systems: facades, site work improvements, structural, and roofs, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical; Review and evaluate deliverables, identify and resolve technical/construction issues related to curtain walls; Interview property owners, occupants, key site personnel and local government officials to obtain information concerning the subject property’s condition; Prepare cost estimate costs to remedy building deficiencies; Use IVI’s proprietary online document assembly software to prepare reports; and Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions. Qualifications: Certification as a Professional Engineer; 10 years of technical or construction related experience; Extensive experience in the façade industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering; Familiarity with NYC Local Law 11 or similar façade ordinances; Core interest in the façade industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering Passion for being detail oriented and highly organized; Proven ability to perform in a deadline environment; Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; Excellent verbal and written communication; and The ability to travel up to 30% of the time; mostly day trips.
