Restaurant General Manager

Overview: Duties: Oversee daily restaurant operations through a team of managers and hourly employees Lead team of front and back of house managers Inspire excellence, and build camaraderie and team morale Abide by and uphold company policies and standards, as well as state sanitations/health regulations Complete tasks efficiently, accurately and with a keen eye for detail Plan and lead weekly management team meetings Schedule management team, and complete weekly Front of House payroll Ensure and maintain safe and secure working conditions/environment Benefits: Competitive compensation package consisting of base salary + bonuses based on performance and financial operations targets Paid vacation and sick leave Individual Health insurance with life, dental and vision options Company dining program Desired Skills & Experience A minimum of five years experience working as General Manager in a fast paced, high volume, fine dining restaurant. Experience in an upscale restaurant (more-so than hotel) in either New York City or a similar atmosphere is critical. An unparalleled commitment to hospitality and customer service Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills Proven ability to effect and implement lasting change Advanced knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails. Working knowledge of sushi is preferred but not necessary Proven ability to think critically and make sound decisions in a high-pressure work environment A clear understanding of restaurant finance, and the ability to operate within budgets for COGS and labor, general expense control/overview, and trends tracking for venue and industry to meet financial objectives Excellent time management and prioritization skills, and the ability to multitask ServSafe Certificate and NYC DOH Food Handler’s Certificate
