Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs
ecruiters is seeking a Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs. This role will be responsible for assisting in analyzing public policy developments, drafting responses to public policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives. Analyze regulatory frameworks in jurisdictions where the firm is or is considering carrying on business, preparing presentations relating to public policy, developing and operationalizing the firm’s South American strategy. Responsibilities · Deepen the firm’s relationship with key organizations • Assist in analyzing regulatory frameworks in jurisdictions where the firm is, or is considering, carrying on business • Direct and manage work product from local external counsel • Help identify global public policy, legislative and/or regulatory trends • Assist in formulating and communicating the firms’ positions on issues of strategic importance with respect to public policy, legislative and regulatory initiatives that could affect the firms • Interact with the lines of business to obtain feedback on how proposed reforms could affect the firms operations and to develop policy positions that are aligned with corporate strategies • Coordinate or lead complex, cross-departmental analytical and writing projects relating to public policy, legislative and/or regulatory matters that affect the firm • Interact with the firms’ Compliance Team and Legal Department to help support implementation of strategies related to public policy, legislative and/or regulatory initiatives • Support effective communication to and by the firm Communication Team about public policy, legislative and/or regulatory developments that may affect the firm Qualifications • Law degree • At least ten years of post-qualification work experience focusing on securities law, banking law and/or credit markets • At least two years’ experience in preparing written submissions or complex regulatory filings for securities or other financial sector regulators, equivalent experience working for a financial sector regulator, and/or two or more years’ experience in an analytical role at a supranational organization such as the International Monetary Fund • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-departmental analytical and writing projects • Excellent analytical skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting deadlines and priorities under limited supervision • Comfortable in a multi-cultural and international work environment • Evidence of dynamic, creative, and thoughtful approach to issues • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively, internally and externally, with the most senior representatives of organizations • Demonstrated ability to coordinate or manage cross-departmental projects • Experience in legislative affairs, compliance/enforcement or credit analytics • Exposure to strategic planning
