Facilities Maintenance Manager

Plan, develop and maintain systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department. Manage staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Manage, lead and directly support all capital improvement projects. Position is responsible for all plant machinery, the facility, utilities, local building and operating compliance, and other relevant internal and external parties.   Pre Requisites: Minimum 5 years, large scale food manufacturing management experience. Raw and ready-to-eat experience is preferred. 10-20 years management experience is preferred Strong knowledge of food safety, USDA and other regulatory manufacturing practices & procedures within raw and RTE operations Strong knowledge of personal safety and best practices Experience in managing projects, department operations & team building activities Strong knowledge of food manufacturing equipment/processes, procedures and technologies including sanitation experience Strong knowledge of plant utilities and building maintenance Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required Strong ability to multitask and adapt/adjust as needed Ability to lead culturally and lead culture change Strong team building skills & leadership of interdepartmental collaboration. Must have exemplary coaching skills Solid analytical skills and ability to measure, target and improve Willingness to work a flexible schedule & be on call during off hours for emergencies Excellent organizational skills & time management abilities Experience with lean principals such as 5s, visuals, quick change over and standard work is highly desirable Working knowledge of power transfer technology including mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics Familiar with machine controls including PLC’s, relay logic, and operator interfaces Familiar with plant utility systems including high pressure steam, heating, ventilating and refrigeration Working knowledge of electrical and electrical parts Fabrication knowledge and skills Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office software   General Responsibilities & Expectations: Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the dept including: staffing, budgets & financial goals Improve & maintain an effective preventative maintenance program Analyze performance data, set targets and standards for improvement, and track results Improve & maintain an effective spare parts inventory program Maintain shop and all maintenance storage areas in a clean and organized fashion Conduct all department operations in accordance with food safety, QA, GMP’s and regulatory procedures / requirements Implement, maintain and enforce safety practices and initiatives (within shop & on production floor) Improve and maintain an effective work order processes Ensure a high quality of work by all staff members at all times Meet & adhere to all established / agreed deadlines Lead department culture development Plan and develop standard systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the dept Analyze and document dept processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies Coordinate, manage and execute all capital expenditure purchases/projects Source new/upgrade machinery and equipment as approved Direct staff in the preparation of all reporting & conduct reporting review processes Coach and develop staff, and create a solid backfill plan Promote and ensure effective communication at all times Establish & execute policy deployment objectives Oversee staff scheduling to include: work assignments, training, vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and back up for absent employees Demonstrate thorough follow up skills Execution of all company personnel policy and procedures including disciplinary Enforce & improve all department related Standard Operating Procedures Maintain a team environment and high employee moral Display & demand professional conduct at all times Maintain self and team focus Work with management team members to assist and improve all training initiatives Maintain, monitor and improve security & temperature monitoring systems Practice root cause analysis. Practice fact-based management Oversee all plant startup & shut down procedures Execute & maintain all permits, certificates & inspections. Ensure facility is in compliance with all city, state & federal regulations Implement & maintain a predictive maintenance program Manage all maintenance related supplier contracts and service agreements Salary is around $140K +
