ny: Fortune 500 Consumer Mfg company (with 40 mfg facilities in the US)Location: upstate NY Position : Materials Manager High speed automated operationwith over 300 employees Reports to: Plant Manager Salary range: $80-90k plus bonus Relocation assistance available GENERAL PURPOSE: MATERIALSMANAGER Manages constant supply of rawmaterials required to support production in a high velocity, just-in-time,make-to-order, Lean manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries. Manage raw material function fromreceiving through storage to usage Plan and order critical raw materials in accordance with supplier selections and guidelines provided by Sourcing Operations. Oversee Lean raw material replenishment on the production floor, including initial set up, daily usage estimates, trigger points, and reorder quantities. Manage the storage of raw materials throughout the plant. Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computation or count, and investigate and report reasons for discrepancies. Work with suppliers and production associates to eliminate waste and damage to raw materials Plan for elimination of obsolete inventory items. Report on quality defects of raw materials to Sourcing Operations for resolution.Maintain accurate inventory by using MRP system and taking cycle counts as needed to resolve discrepancies. Consider information andevaluates possible courses of action and generates solutions to problems Manage goals and high quality workwhile maintaining a safe environment Institute a culture of continuousimprovement for quality and efficiency Foster and promote an environment ofcollaboration Maintain motivation and enthusiasmthrough development to drive a high performance culture Develop good communication rapport POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES 8-10 years materials management experience in a Lean manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree Experience with OSHA APICS/CPM certification preferred Strong communications andleadership skills Track record of results andaccomplishment High level of promotability Experience with change management Job stability and careerprogression
