NE 500 DAIRY COMPANY LOCATED IN THE UPSTATE NEW YORK AREA IS SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER Job Title:Quality Assurance ManagerDepartment: Quality Fluid Dairy PlantSupervisor:QA DirectorJob Summary:Key Responsibilities: Oversee and direct the QA Program, Food Safety Program, SQF Compliance, and Laboratory Personnel. Ensure product and process compliance to legal, company, and consumer, quality and food safety standards for all products manufactured at the plant.Job Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Direct the QA Program that includes chemical, physical, organoleptic, bacteriological and shelf life analysis of finished product produced in the plant.Maintain a working relationship with Regulatory Inspectors and Third Party Auditors to ensure compliance to standards. Complete and submit all required paperwork.Lead SQF Audit compliance for the plant. Must become a certified SQF Practitioner.Lead plant HACCP team and maintain HACCP program documentationOversee response to Consumer and Customer complaints. Work with team to implement corrective actions in response to complaints.Maintain accurate and current product formulations and manufacturing protocols for all products manufactured at the facility.Monitor, through auditing, inspection, sampling and testing - incoming ingredients, processing, packaging and sanitation, to ensure the safety and quality of all finished goods.Manage, train and direct the QA laboratory personnel and technical personnel to assure accurate and efficient laboratory practices and record keeping. Maintain State and USPH approvals for testing.Accept or reject incoming goods and finished products based on established standards. Communicate findings and make recommendations to management and corporate personnel.Oversee and audit the plant sanitation programs. Audit documentation and maintain required records.Assist in training of all plant personnel regarding HACCP, SQF, GMP's, sanitation, and product handling.Work closely with the Plant and Operations Managers and plant personnel to prevent & resolve quality problems.Assist R & D with in-plant trials.Ensure that employees are performing their job duties in a safe manner.Maintain laboratory expenses and labor to operate within established budgetary guidelines.Limited travel required for meetings and interaction with other Hood facilities.Weekend & Holiday work may be required. Interaction with all shifts expected.Job Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or Dairy Science is preferred or, equivalent experience in dairy processing and quality control.• Minimum of 3 years training and experience in dairy manufacturing.• Quality assurance Supervisory experience .• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
