Finance Location: NYC (midtown) Salary: Up to 70k base(competitive bonus and benefits package) Job Description: Job Purpose: The position will fill the role of Trade Finance product specialist. The role will define and implement product development and strategic marketing to drive Trade Finance sales growth for the Branch, while increasing industry awareness of ABC. Key Responsibilities: • Develop strategic Trade Finance product plans and conduct marketing activities (e.g. seminars, receptions and sponsorship events) with a focus on building a book of Trade Finance business and laying the foundation for the development of strong relationships with new and existing Corporate Banking clients. • Develop and manage the Branch marketing database in conjunction with the Head Office database, to identify customer target groups and specific Trade Finance product initiatives the Branch will focus on. • Ensure the achievement of specific Trade Finance sales objectives by working closely with the Corporate Banking team to leverage existing relationships and ensure the effective implementation of all aspects of the Trade Finance marketing strategy. • Will work closely with Corporate Banking colleagues and accompany them on client calls where their Trade Finance product expertise will enable development of Trade Finance business with U.S. companies with business activity in China, while growing new Trade Finance relationships with Chinese businesses in the U.S. • Solicit Trade Finance business in order to build up the customer and develop the product portfolio for the New York Branch. This includes conducting due diligence on potential customers, and providing credit reviews for Trade Finance applications where necessary and partnering with relevant internal departments / colleagues for analysis and approval. • In conjunction with Corporate Banking relationship managers, establish and maintain contact with existing/new customers and actively participate in selling the New York Branch’s Trade Finance capabilities to support key accounts and understand customer needs. • Drive new Trade Finance product innovation to grow sales and profitability through efficient identification of opportunities. Collaborate with Corporate Banking colleagues to manage the product development effort to produce competitive financial solutions for clients. • Analyze current Trade Finance product offerings from competitors, benchmarks and local market trends in order to effectively develop and enhance the Branch’s product capabilities and pricing strategies. • Undertake any other relevant duties assigned by the Department Head from time to time. Knowledge & Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business related field. • Typically requires a minimum of 2-5 years relevant Trade Finance industry experience in local and international financial markets. Full knowledge of Trade Finance products including discounting, forfaiting, etc. • Must be able to communicate fluently in Mandarin, in addition to English. • Strong computer skills are essential. Proficient in MS Office (Work, Excel and PowerPoint). • Demonstrates a strong understanding of specific Trade Finance business and has a good general corporate banking knowledge. • Successful completion of required annual Branch BSA/AML training.
