TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE Teen Program Assistant The Teen Program Assistant is responsible for the guidance, supervision, and safety of teens under their care, while ensuring an engaging and intellectually stimulating member experience. He/ she will serve as a model for youth by building rapport with members through positive interactions in program activities. . · Support the planning, implementation and supervision of activities including but not limited to learning, leadership, group clubs, life skills and enrichment for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and practice. · Assist with group projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers, contests, or other experiential activities, and guide members in learning from those activities. · Assist with daily set-up, daily clean up, and transportation. · Model and enforce adherence to sound health and safety practices for each member. · Supervise the movement of members in activity rooms, halls, cafeterias, play roofs, gymnasiums, and on field trips. · Engage with members and use appropriate strategies to preemptively defuse inappropriate behavior and encourage positive interactions. COMPETENCIES Planning, Organizing, Professionalism, Dependability, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Innovation EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Junior level or higher preferred; DOH and DOE fingerprinted desirable; First Aid and CPR Certification desirable; Teaching Assistants and Para Professionals encouraged to apply.
