ry of position: • The Center for Development of Human Services/Institute for Community Health Promotion (ICHP)/SUNY Buffalo State, is seeking an experienced Trainer, who in conjunction with the duties below, provides training and technical assistance, as per the required quality standards established by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), to managers, supervisors, and trainers within The New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA). Job Functions/Responsibilities: • Provide training and technical assistance in support of HRA managers and supervisors • Work collaboratively with CDHS project administrator for HRA02 to ensure contract deliverables are being met • Provide consultation, including ongoing assessment of curriculum needs and designing tools, in response to identified sponsor needs • Effectively and accurately communicate on a regular basis relevant project information to CDHS project administrator for HRA02 • Work collaboratively with CDHS project administrator for HRA02 to manage training issues and ensure contract deliverables are being met • Participate in the training development, including writing curriculum, training delivery, providing and receiving feedback, and modification process by assisting in the implementation of training and training-related activities • Provide one-on-one training, overview, and classroom instruction to HRA staff at various field locations as needed • Work collaboratively with CDHS/ICHP trainers, consultants and other HRA02 trainers in training delivery and service provision to ensure contract deliverables are being met • Submit required documentation (e.g., curriculum, quarterly reports, annual performance appraisals, accurate records of time, and attendance) in a timely manner • Revise existing training curriculum and materials as needed or requested • Conduct ongoing research and engage in professional development in areas related to training content and delivery • Undertake special projects as assigned • Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, social sciences, human services, health or other closely related major. Experience • Minimum of one year’s experience in the implementation, training, planning, or operation of a human services-related program • Expertise in training and coaching related to group processes, facilitation, supervision, and group dynamics. • Interpersonal skills that relate to: engagement of individuals in new initiatives, in self-assessment, in building strong working relationships, coaching, motivating, facilitation of problem solving, team building, supporting, moving initiatives forward (self-motivated, results-oriented), and flexibility • Detailed knowledge on the principles of effective training applications, including adult learning theory • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills • Proficient in the use of standard computer applications, including MS Office • Experience in curriculum development, especially e-learning • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience working with diverse populations Frequent travel in personal or rented automobile or mass transit throughout NYC. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Human Services-related field with three years of experience in human services-related program. Job Related Physical Requirements: • Able to lift up to 40 pounds • Ability to arrange classroom furniture for training room set-up • Able to pack, lift, transport, and set up material and equipment as necessary Ability to carry A/V equipment Travel Requirements: • 5% of yearly time – may include Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester counties This position is with Center for Development of Human Services/ICHP and offers an excellent benefit package.
