Contracts Manager/Paralegal
onstruction is looking for a passionate individual who is ready to contribute their talents and expertise to an environment that rewards hard work, cooperation and respect. We are currently seeking full time commercial contracts manager to review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Experience reviewing, analyzing and negotiating commercial contracts is required although the Company will train the right candidate with respect to the particular type of contract that candidate will be responsible (construction contracts). Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Will be the primary contact for all third party supplier contracts and subcontractor contracts • Will review and negotiate contracts on behalf of the company • Must be able to review/edit/redline contract clauses and identify clauses that the Company cannot agree to and draft some contract language. • Must be able to understand the terms and conditions of construction contractors • Will interact with the project team as needed during the negotiation of the contracts • Report to and support the Legal Director • Provide status reporting to the Legal Director of all contracts • Maintains records with respect to all legal matters • Directly perform legal tasks of a varying nature which are attendant to the operation of a construction company, including maintaining a positive interpersonal business relationship with subcontractors Qualifications: • Strong analytical and organizational skills • Must have experience analyzing and negotiating commercial contracts • Self-motivated person with highly professional work ethic, appearance and demeanor • Understanding of corporate transactions and other legal processes. • Proficiency with computers, including strong word processing skills • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments • Ability to work independently and as a team player • Must be detailed oriented • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multitask with minimal supervision Experience: At least six years of legal experience in a professional office Preferred: Experience in the construction industry Knowledge of standard AIA contracts Understanding of Mechanics Liens Education Level: Bachelor's Degree We offer a great opportunity for growth with a company that is increasing its share in the NYC Construction Market as well as nationally.
