As part of the Legal Team you will directly support all legal needs of the firm and your responsibilities will include: Assisting in all aspects of the Firm’s transactional work (JVs, VC, PE, financing, M&A, securitizations, distressed debt & restructurings, RE, and SPVs) Managing investment offering materials Overseeing and managing regulatory compliance policies and procedures Participating in new business initiatives and developments Assist in preparing and maintaining global regulatory and other filings Requirements Include: Bottom line, results-driven JD from a top-25 law school Record of outstanding academics and professional success 1-5 years (sorry, only candidates with 1-5 years of experience will be considered!) of work experience practicing corporate law in a law firm or as an in-house counsel Experience with specialization in transactional, finance, credit, and/or private equity, and a aptitude and interest in learning other areas of law Willingness to work-on many different types of principal transactions Highly proficient and developed written and oral communication skills, with special emphasis on drafting and negotiation. Ability to work independently and manage internal clients and consult with outside counsel. Desire to work on a range of matters, and learn new dimensions that will increase scope of your work and responsibility as needs arise and your experience affords in employment, IP, and regulatory work is a decided advantage The ideal candidate will be a self-starter w/ excellent professional judgment and discretion who possesses broad experience in employment and benefits matters. Detail oriented and diligent Entrepreneurial spirited, not intimidated by the unpredictable, the unfamiliar or the unstructured International experience in developing countries and emerging markets is desirable and a plus Admission to the NY bar Familiarity and technology savvy with SQL, VBA, Access, and Excel, as well as standard legal technologies and databases is a plus Versed in working as an independent contributor and team player Occasional travel is part of the role and the position is based in NYC     This position is based in NYC.
