irector of Content Marketing will own the overall Content Strategy for Yodle, and drive rapid execution to deliver business results. The initial focus will be on dramatically expand, refine and optimize the use of our newly launched email product and content management features to provide the greatest value to our local small business customers. They will be responsible for creating, leveraging, and continually improving content and processes to optimize our clients’ consumer acquisition, cross-sell, and retention efforts, drive small business satisfaction with the Yodle value proposition, and create new Yodle revenue streams. For the email feature, they will create and optimize the use of copy, photos, reviews, logos, selling points, calls to action, headlines, creative layout, look and feel, video, and more in all our email templates. They will start with a strawman recommendation of regular email schedules across our top segments, and develop and manage a testing plan to continually improve the utilization and ROI of the email feature, including recommendations on categories, frequency, and recipient targeting. They will develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, and use that context along with our own experience and data collected to evaluate partnerships and new product features to make our products highly compelling and effective for our small business customers. For website, they will create and optimize the use of all content (eg. copy, photos, reviews and more) to drive performance of our SMB websites. This includes managing internal and external resource to create and optimize copy for new and existing segments. They will partner with other internal teams to optimize collection and usage of other content such as promotional offerings and unique selling points. In addition to email and website specifically, this role will be responsible for identifying new ways to use content to enhance our value proposition and revenue streams (for example, creation of newsletters). This leader will manage and grow a current team of 3, as well as work closely with internal and external partners. They will be a key member of the Product Performance leadership team, working with their colleagues to achieve Yodle’s mission: To empower local businesses to find and keep their customers in the simplest, most profitable ways imaginable. Responsibilities Own creation and execution of overall content strategy from identification of input needed to create content, co-ordination of collection of input, creation of content modules, optimal usage of content created, and ongoing testing, learning, and iteration to continually improve our performance. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and marketplace offerings to drive recommendations for developing our product features and optimizing their use to drive customer engagement and ROI Lead the use and creation of all elements of current and future content for emails, websites, and other consumer communications: photos, reviews, logos, selling points, promotion, calls to action, headlines, all elements of copy, creative layout, look and feel, video, and more TBD. Optimize the structure and usage guidelines of our email and other features to drive small business customer satisfaction and ROI. Define and collect key metrics and goals for team; lead efforts to meet and exceed goals and deliverables, and drive continuous process improvement Establish framework and processes to allow for ongoing rigorous testing to support product performance improvements Work with Yodle’s Product Strategy/Management and Client Service teams to facilitate appropriate technology and process build-out in supporting and scaling best practices Develop strong working partnerships with the SEO and SEM teams, Quantitative Engineering team, Sales, Client Services, Product/Marketing, Finance and other functional areas to ensure all activities support and are consistent with high-level company strategy Manage a team of internet marketing professionals, driving high employee satisfaction, and with a commitment to employee development Serve as key member of the broader Product Performance team, providing thought leadership in the context of Yodle’s broader business strategy (SEO, SEM, and other potential businesses) and competitive position Qualifications Self-directed, and comfortable leading the business into new and unchartered territory Willing to dig in and roll up your sleeves to get things done Experience driving consumer response via digital marketing efforts a and test and learn—and a proven track record of driving results Ability to balance sophisticated quantitative analysis with creative thinking and practical trade-offs to make decisions supporting team and broader business objectives Strong customer focus and creative marketing skills Very strong execution skills, and ability to drive tight project management Demonstrated ability to form strong cross functional and team partnerships Experience hiring, leading and motivating a high-performance team, with high levels of employee satisfaction Strong work ethic and a desire to have an impact on our business and our customers’ success is critical! Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
