n Elser's White Plains office currently seeks a Marketing & Business Development Manager. We are seeking self-motivated, intelligent and team-oriented individuals. Description Under general direction of the firm's Director of Marketing, the Marketing & Business Development Manager implements the practice and business development goals and strategies of the firm. Overall responsibilities include: • Leads and manages the strategic marketing initiatives for 5-6 practice groups across multiple geographies. • Serves as an "adviser" to the designated practice groups and the practice group leaders by providing strategic guidance on marketing, communications and business development opportunities that are effective and generate positive, measureable results. • Leads the development of the annual marketing/business development/communication planning process for each group. Ensures that each plan is tied to the firm's overall business strategy. Creates collateral, brochures, advertisements, newsletters, and client mailings at the practice level, and promotes the practices and individual attorneys, as appropriate. Ensures these initiatives are aligned with firm strategy. • Gains intimate knowledge of each of the practices' issues, trends, selling points, competitors and client-driver opportunities. • Evaluates, recommends and coordinates market opportunities to include speaking and publishing, client events, and conferences/seminars/sponsorships. • Writes in a variety of marketing/communication styles such as practice leader messaging, brochures and all client materials. • Knowledge of how to market and communicate an effective message at all levels. Some assistance with this will come from the firm's writing manager. • Possesses strong diplomatic skills in interacting with many partners and C-level executives. • Self-starter and idea generator for the practice areas and works both independently and in a teaming environment. • Oversees significant and highly-complex projects and marketing campaigns with general direction rather than supervision. • Provides superior service to the firm's internal and external clients while working at a high-energy level -- efficiently and effectively, and working in a fast-paced organization managing multiple projects simultaneously. • Fulfills the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the firm's core values. • Identifies market opportunities by working with attorneys to develop topics of interest to their target audiences and liaises with the PR/Communications Manager to ensure maximum exposure. • Oversees and facilitates communication among and between the practices, including working with Director of Marketing to identify and implement cross-selling opportunities. • Leads and manages the RFP process and new business pitches for designated practice groups and keep track of wins and losses. • Works with research team to prepare background information on prospects and clients. • Identifies opportunities to offer new services or enhance existing services in order to attract high-value work and enhance value provided to clients. • Communicates successes and opportunities internally within the practices and firm. • Works with graphic design team to provide guidance and direction on the creative design and layout concepts for discussion documents, proposals, practice collateral, and client materials. • Works with the other members of the marketing and communications team to collaborate on firm projects and initiatives as assigned. Experience & Qualifications • Understanding of issues and business drivers associated with law practices • Ability to quickly and proactively identify and analyze problems, develop solutions and deliver results • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing skills • Demonstrated ability in developing/implementing marketing campaigns and programs • Experience in developing compelling value propositions for services/campaigns • Solid marketing skills across a wide range of channels including social media • Strong work ethic and service orientation • Commitment to professional growth and development • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressures as necessary • Poise, tact and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Ability to work flexible hours as needed Education and Experience Bachelor degree in a marketing-related field, post graduate degree in marketing/communications or related field a plus Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with at least 3-4 years relevant experience at manager level Experience in a global, national, or regional professional services firm, Fortune 1000 company, or PR/advertising agency   If your background and experience align with these qualifications and you want to advance your career with one of the nation's leading law firms, please use the online application link to apply.
