ION:  Registered Nurse – Career Change to Legal Nurse COMPENSATION:  Base up to $80,000 plus paid overtime, generous bonuses, medical benefits, 12 Vacation Days, 3 Personal/Sick Days, Paid Holidays, 3 Additional Paid Holidays for Seasonal Office Closing, 401K, Excellent team-oriented working environment. LOCATION: Midtown NYC THE ORGANIZATION: Plaintiffs-only law firm with a national trial practice SUMMARY: Seeking a medical professional with an RN or MPH licence/degree who is interested in utilizing their medical knowledge and training to transition their career to the legal sector.  The ideal candidate will possess a pleasant, upbeat personality with exceptional critical thinking and analysis skills.  Someone who would enjoy identifying standards of care, reviewing medical records and/or preparing reports and summaries for a wide variety of matters including medical malpractice, products liability, nursing liability, personal injury, wrongful death and toxic tort cases. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Screen new cases reviewing pre-existing or co-existing medical conditions, billings, notes of physicians and nurses, charts, pleadings, discovery, deposition transcripts, accident reports and insurance documents Identify, organize and analyze pertinent medical records Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of medical evidence and identify exclusions, oversights and discrepancies Research medical and legal literature Locate and interview medical experts Serve as a liaison between law firms, medical experts and other parties Coordinate independent medical examinations Prepare medical record chronologies, charts, diagrams, expert witness reports and timelines for use in formulating medical-legal case theories REQUIREMENTS: 2-6 years of clinical nursing experience Law firm/Litigation experience a plus Desire to work within the legal sector on a full-time/permanent basis Skilled with reviewing medical charts, records and billings Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical drawings, laboratory tests, medical conditions and medications Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe; TrialWorks; Westlaw, LexisNexis and PACER Flexibility to work overtime (paid) as needed Bachelor's degree in medical related field and/or Registered Nurse License preferred; MPH a plus TO APPLY: If your experience meets the requirements of this position, please submit your resume in Word format for consideration to: Janice (Miller) Paisley Senior Recruitment Manager Filcro Legal Staffing New York, NY, Cleveland, OH, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA & Washington, DC http://filcro.com/nurse-paralegal-jobs.html EEO EMPLOYER:  Filcro Legal Staffing and the organizations we represent are equal opportunity employers.
