/> ~~Our client, a niche software company is seeking a Controller to join their New York office. He/she will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will be responsible for the oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. Working directly with the CFO, the Controller all finance, accounting and reporting activities. Working directly with the CFO, the Controller will be involved in supporting presentations to Company’s Board of Directors and will work closely with the senior leadership team. The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations along with a team of 3 finance colleagues, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.  The Controller will ensure that the Company has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing internal audits, controls and checks across all departments • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, and cost accounting • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows • Preparation of Monthly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for the CFO and Board of Directors • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs or capital expenditures, when necessary • Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms • Interface with outside audit firms, banks and lessors, credit card companies, and collection agencies • Report to the Board of Directors, when necessary, in writing and verbally • Other duties as necessary QUALIFICATIONS • B.A. degree in accounting or business administration, CPA certification is a must • 10-14 years of previous financial control and management reporting experience • The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment • You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach • Computer literate with good excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles • Controller must use the utmost discretion in all presentations/correspondence and communication for staff, Board of Directors and CFO Location: New York City Compensation: 130k-160k plus bonus of 15%-20% plus all benefits
