Time Permanent Position for a large US Company. D-08 Engineer (BIW - Under Body) – 2D DFMEA DVP&R Catia GSD Metal Design Location: Job is in Raymond Ohio Domain:  Engineering Experience: 3 Years Experienced Engineer (BIW - Under Body) is required having experience in factory and supplier support, supplier negotiation, cost calculation, technical presentations, root cause analysis.   Job Responsibilities: Perform Layout Check - Ensure the part design meets the part Requirements and Guidelines for Clearances, Construction, and Installation and Service removal. Make appropriate Documentation for Communication – Option Matrix documentation discussion with Suppliers, Factory, other departments, etc.   Responsible for engineering, design, development, production release of Body components. Need to understand the part and department expectations and work independently. Benchmark competitors prior to making a design proposal and setting the direction. Effectively work as a team with others and able to go to the source for face to face discussions Schedule and lead meetings with Suppliers, Factory, and other departments and take adequate meeting minutes. Effectively communicate with affected groups the responsible part requirements, and understand the affected groups part requirements and how they affect the part responsible for.   Job Requirements: Catia V5 Workbenches: GSD, Sheet Metal Design, Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting Layout creation, 2D & 3D section creation for packaging & clearance coordination with concern Dept, suppliers and factories project scheduling and tracking Ability to create 2D Drawing from 3D data. Understanding of manufacturing technologies (stamping, injection molding) which shall include: Forming requirements Tooling requirements Cost drivers Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint Experience Needed: Experience in factory and supplier support, supplier negotiation, cost calculation, technical presentations, root cause analysis. Intermediate to advance level of design / development engineering experience.
