The Business Relations Manager (BRM) is the key contact responsible for reimbursement related matters in the assigned sales geography. The BRM is required to analyze reimbursement issues and act as the reimbursement expert/problem solver for field force & region management. The BRM will also need to coordinate cross functionally with, Public Affairs, State & External Affairs, Managed Markets, Trade and Specialty Pharmacy Account Management, Marketing and Field Sales. Reimbursement Support • The Business Relations Manager is the key contact responsible for reimbursement relat-ed matters in the defined sales geography • The main responsibility is to analyze reimbursement issues & opportunities, anticipating changes in the healthcare landscape, and act as the reimbursement expert/problem solver for field sales • Provide reimbursement training to FF only as needed (reactive response to health care provider questions) in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements • Support product access, implement competitive response/pull-through strategies, maintain and grow key relationships, and resolve reimbursement issues with third-party payers at the HCP level in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements • Account planning for optimizing product pull through in collaboration with all stakeholders • Execute against Novartis approved strategies to support appropriate coverage and pay-ment in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements • The Business Relations Manager provides expertise in coverage, coding and payment within various sites of care Business Solution Support • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key customer segments and thought leaders (payers, specialty pharmacies, specialty distributors, regional GPOs, societies, specialty practices, multi-specialty practices, infusion centers, hospitals, physician/corporate billing organizations, ACOs, Systems of Care, etc.) in order to improve patient access in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements • Identify local providers for assessments and first dose observation for Gilenya (FDO). • Educate local Gilenya Access Network sites on services and process • On boarding of GAN site and reimbursement training when appropriate • Create hassle free pathways for referring practitioners in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements • Set-up new FDO pathways as needed • Provide ongoing communications with field and marketing regarding network updates and accuracy of network data • Support field and marketing team with ongoing management of service providers. • Increase product/reimbursement awareness at meetings with health care providers in-cluding physicians, pharmacists, and billing/office/reimbursement managers • Work with HUB, Benefit Investigators, and vendors to ensure accurate coverage determinations and resolve health care provider issues • Compliantly address healthcare provider questions and issues related to reimbursement. • Integral participant or leader of ATM process to insure development and implementation of key account plans • Control business expenses related to field activities (i.e. travel, customer meetings) pro-vide timely expense reports to manager. Minimum requirements • Business Relations Manager Experience; Sales Management Experience; or Regional or Corporate Account Management Experience required • Experience in physician in-office and hospital reimbursement including correct application of ICD-9-CM, CPT®, HCPCS Level II and modifier coding assignments • Possess a strong understanding of Commercial payers, Medicare Part A/B/C/D plans and state Medicaid in geographic region • Experience in identifying and filling local needs for patient specific service locations such as product administration/initiation, first dose observation or diagnostic Education Bachelor’s Degree required. Business and/or biological science education preferred
