-based wholesale distributor is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist.  The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient and capable of handling a diverse set of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This person will manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Human Resources department.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Organizational Development Assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. Development of department goals, objective and systems Establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals Maintain an up-to-date employee handbook compliant with labor laws, etc. Keep the executive team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals.   Human Resource Information Systems Management of the payroll system Maintain employee related databases (excel spreadsheets employee census, head count reports, etc.)   Training and Development Assist with the implementation of the performance management system Establishment of in-house employee training for computer programs, Outlook, Word and Excel.   Recruiting Manage the recruitment process Identify staff vacancies; conduct recruitment planning with departments   Employee Relations Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs and laws. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits Advise managers on organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes as necessary Serving as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work-related problems. Assists with the implementation of company safety programs. Tracks and posts OSHA required data. Manage worker’s comp, disability, unemployment claims and track FMLA Leave. Participate in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forward. Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee resignations   Payroll Process weekly payroll for one site  (120+ employees) Coordinate payroll with outside service provider.  Preparation and distribution of paychecks. Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner Direct the preparation of payroll related documents (garnishments, etc.) Administer benefit plans Maintain compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements Monitor the accurate processing of staff transfers, promotions and terminations Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements Support all internal and external audits related to payroll Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production   Benefits Administration Assist CFO with obtaining cost effective employee benefits Lead benefit orientation meetings Administer and maintain employment information for all employees regarding all employment benefits Administer payment of all employee related benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, 401k, Aflac, Union pension, union dues and welfare, recruitment benefits, etc.   Compliance Lead company compliance on OSHA, FMLA, Department of Labor, Workers Comp, etc. Maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits regarding these matters. Maintain and prepare information requested or required for compliance with laws. Serves as a contact with the company employment law attorney. Protect the interest of employees and the company in accordance with Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations. Minimize risk for the company.   Other Any other special projects as assigned by the CFO, Controller or COO
