Help Desk Engineer

ION DESCRIPTION   You will provide technology support, direction and solutions to our clients.  You will help to expand infrastructure, execute implementation plans for network, server, and client machine expansion and management, while growing your skills for proficiency in multi-server Windows networks and workstations both physical and virtual.  Basic Windows server administration, networking and desktop hands-on experience, along with strong customer support skills are a must.   Strong curiosity of technology, desire to learn, ability to learn and apply new material quickly.  Professional acumen is necessary.  Only superstars and rising stars need apply. If technology does not excite you and get you going, don't apply.   We are looking for LOCAL candidates ONLY, you must live within a 30 minute commute of Stamford, CT to be considered for the position, all others need not apply.   In this position you will have the opportunity to work and learn from our a top notch national engineering team, learn and test new and emerging technology and work with the products from best of breed technology partners.    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES   • Provide operational support and consulting services to a variety of organizations: - install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows Server, Windows desktop, Mac and various network devices. - Work with your team and end-users to triage, diagnose and resolve technology issues. - Provide pre-sales engineering support to sales personnel. - Provide installation support services of products. - Administration of internal IT servers, such as Terminal Server, Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint. - Create and deploy custom settings for managing client systems. - Quoting and Product procurement - Install equipment, software and provide technical support.   • Document business processes, including system diagrams. • Position is based on Stamford, CT, some local travel is required, some work from home flexibility. • Position requires off hours on-call availability.   REQUIREMENTS • Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar discipline, along with two to four years of related experience. • Experience with: - Windows Server 2003, 2008 & 2012, account settings, domain and Active Directory - solid knowledge of Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8/8.1 (installing, configuring, troubleshooting and reinstallations) - upgrade and troubleshoot basic hardware issues - knowledge of virus and spyware removal tools - remote access tools - network concepts - DNS, DHCP, TCPIP - configure POP/IMAP/Exchange Mail and troubleshoot MS Office issues - Microsoft Office365 - add and configure local and network printers   • Good troubleshooting skills • Must be able to work independently with initiative, be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills. • Ability to work professionally with clients both onsite and remotely • Must have strong documentation skills and hands on experience • Excellent verbal and written skills • Certifications from Microsoft, CompTia, Cisco etc. a plus • LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY, you must live within a 30 minute commute of Stamford, CT.   We are in a time of rapid technology change and need you to be able to keep us at the top.  You will be provided and expected to maintain a professional development plan and continue to gain industry certifications.
