RETAIL STORE MANAGER

tablished, upscale Manhattan retailer is looking for an experienced retail manager. Overall Responsibilities: •    Meet and maintain company, store and sales performance goals at all times; maintain optimum store environment •    Strong emphasis on customer service •    Hire and train Sales Associates; motivate and lead staff through goal setting, recognition and team building •    Takes complete ownership and oversees all store operational issues •    Leads team of 5-6 retail employees Requirements: •    High school diploma and at least 3 years of specialty retail management experience required •    Leadership skills and ability to develop and empower a team •    Strong communication and customer service skills •    Positive, upbeat and energetic demeanor and ability to interact with co-workers, customers and management •    Flexible to work evenings, weekends and some holidays as needed •    Skilled in register functions, store record-keeping and operational details •    Eager to go the extra mile to improve store customer service and sales   Responsibilities Include: •    Actively listens and accepts direction and guidance from management; maintains a positive, upbeat and energetic demeanor •    Team building; team conflict resolution •    Facilitates and/or manages the general operations of the store ensuring that the store is in working order and adequately maintained to ensure safe and efficient operations •    Meets and enforces highest customer service standards and procedures while providing customers with excellent experience; ability to handle and resolve challenging customer service situations •    Ensures all new hires are properly trained; develops store staff by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; performs job appraisals and ongoing employee evaluations •    Supports company initiatives •    Analyzes variances and year to year comparisons, reviews store financial data and expenditures; ensures accurate accounting of all cash handling and financial procedures •    Directs and makes recommendations for merchandise placement; oversees store window display •    Maintains ongoing inventory; creates purchase orders, corrects inventory problems when appropriate •     Ensures store is compliant with daily upkeep and cleaning schedule and according to the company best practices •    Opens and closes the store in accordance with company standards; prepares weekly schedules to ensure proper store coverage; sets and prioritizes store goals and ensures that employees achieve them
