Project Director
cruiters is seeking a Project Director. This role will be responsible for a regional portfolio of projects. In this role you will report to the Regional VP and be accountable for integrating and developing processes that meet business needs across the organization, managing complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. Essential Responsibilities Be responsible for managing assigned region’s project portfolio and financial performance Be accountable for driving organizational and functional effectiveness in order to achieve region business goals and objectives Be capable of leading the region’s project management team in all aspects of project management (schedule, risk, cost, etc.), developing comprehensive project plans, conducting integrated change control, and competing project closure Be responsible for ensuring that customer and partner relationships are proactively managed for assigned region’s project portfolio Be capable of leading / guiding the region’s project management team in translating customer needs/requirements into detailed project plans, driving internal execution to meet established targets, and developing enduring / faithful customer relationships while improving project profitability Be responsible for leading the execution of assigned region’s projects in terms of the main contractual obligations, timely delivery, quality, and compliance with contract scope, as well as, expected profitability of each region project Be capable of developing and progressing team’s management of project contracts, contract performance, scope management planning and execution, and contract closeouts Be responsible for the cash flow and contribution margin of assigned Region’s projects and guiding region project managers in playing a proactive role in problem identification / resolution within their project sub-teams, by highlighting potential areas of concern and promptly driving other departments (engineering, project controls, etc.) in solving issues which affect project execution Develop enhanced project management programs and processes that reduce total cycle time and span Be responsible for implementing common process across the business, which result in dramatically improved quality and efficiency in project delivery Be capable of developing and progressing regional team performance in quality management planning / execution, organizational planning / resource management, schedule management (planning, tracking, analysis, etc.), procurement management (planning/ execution), and cost / budget analysis and management Be capable of leading region project management team in the development and affective execution of risk management plans (risk analysis, contingency planning, trigger event identification, mitigation actions, etc.) for individual projects Be capable of providing full scope leadership for region team, including planning / managing team communication and meetings, managing employee performance, conducting annual assessments, performing salary planning activities, and progressing employee development Ensure all team members are trained and compliant on project management processes, tools and methods Create an environment which enables the attraction of new, qualified talent to the organization Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent from an accredited college or university Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally Desired Characteristics Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering Strong Project, Construction, Field Engineering, and/or Contract Management experience within the signaling business High energy level - self-starter Technical knowledge of product lines and associated systems Microsoft suite proficiency Six Sigma training Proven ability to effectively manage a team / organization Strong people management, team building, performance management, strategic and operations planning, process management, negotiation, and relationship management skills Strong skills in customer relationship building, facilitation, and matrix management Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leaderships skills Leadership Development program (PMDP, PMLP, OMLP, JOLP, RELP or equivalent) Strong business and financial acumen Ability to drive and manage change in a dynamic environment
