Sr. PreSales Middleware Engineer

ve an exciting opportunity for a Computer Engineering Graduate to join our Professional Services Team in New York.  We are seeking someone who is interested in pursuing a career in the area of enterprise networking, specifically related to middleware appliance technologies.  This is a customer-facing role and at times will require extensive travel. Mastery of soft skills for this position is mandatory.  The type of work required includes developing and presenting a variety of documents, including best practices and guidelines, solution design and test cases, concept of operation, and other documents as required by customers.  Desired Skills & Experience     A Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering or related program      Application development – Experience developing and troubleshooting Java and/or C/C++/C# code is required. Any development experience using sockets, messaging APIs, multithreaded and distributed applications would be a plus.      Operations Support – Experience providing application or hardware support is desired. Some experience troubleshooting technical issues, including network failures, application monitoring and configuration errors, is expected.      Messaging Middleware – General knowledge of messaging concepts such as publish/subscribe, point-to-point, and other message exchange patterns is desired.      Hands-On experience - installing, configuring, and/or operating products such as IBM MQ, TIBCO EMS and/or RV, 29West/Infomatica and/or SonicMQ would be an asset.      Networking – Good knowledge of network layers and topologies as well as general understanding of routers, switches, gateways, and other networking gear and how they impact performance is preferable.     Web development – Some experience developing web-based applications is desire but not mandatory.      Standards and Specifications – Knowledge of IP, TCP, UDP, JMS, AMQP, HTML5, XML, XPATH and XSLT is desired     Experience with technical writing  is desired      Some exposure to project management, negotiation, and conflict resolution would be beneficial
